Madagascar is the fourth largest island in the world and is located at the western end of the Indian Ocean, 400km off the south-eastern coast of Africa.

The country has extraordinary potential to attract and benefit from FDI as it is endowed with rich natural resources, a young population and vast tracts of fertile land. The Government of Madagascar is pursuing a policy of attracting foreign direct investments as one of the key strategies for the development of the country.

Among the promising economic sectors, the following are singled out for the importance of the opportunities they offer: mining, tourism, agribusiness, export processing zones and construction.
